Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. It is MYCV's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website and the services we operate. We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you, and we collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent.

Information we collect

Your CV and documents. When you upload, drop, or paste a CV, we receive the file and the text within it — which typically includes your name, contact details, work history, education, and skills. We process this to generate your improved CV and to power features you ask for (analysis, tailoring, templates, and exports).

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email and name through our authentication provider. You can also sign up with your Google account, in which case your name and public profile picture may prefill your MYCV profile.

Usage data. We collect basic, largely anonymized information about how the service is used so we can keep it reliable and improve it over time.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate, format, and improve your CV and related documents;
  • Provide the features you request — analysis, tailoring, sharing, and exports;
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the MYCV service, including our AI quality.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except with the service providers below who help us operate MYCV, or when required by law.

AI processing and service providers

To produce your results, the text of your CV is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate your output. We use a hosted authentication provider to manage sign-in, and standard hosting and infrastructure providers to run the service. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and applicable data-protection commitments. See our GDPR & Data Rights page for details on legal bases, transfers, and your rights.

Sharing links you create

If you choose to create a shareable link to your CV, anyone with that link can view the content you publish. You control whether to create such a link, and you can disable it from your account.

Data retention

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with the service you requested and for the legitimate purposes described above. What data we store, we protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

Your rights and choices

We act as both a data controller and a data processor for the personal data processed through MYCV, in line with applicable data-protection laws, including the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Australian Privacy Act. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you are free to decline our request for personal information — with the understanding that we may be unable to provide some services as a result. To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@mycv.au.

Cookies and sessions

We use secure, httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in. These are necessary for the service to function and are not used for third-party advertising.

Links to other sites

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. We have no control over the content and practices of these sites and cannot accept responsibility for their respective privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

Your continued use of our website will be regarded as acceptance of our practices around privacy and personal information. We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top reflects the latest revision. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@mycv.au.
